2011 Kulim International

Assalammualaikum & very good morning.

This is my first time participate as a rider in Kulim.

in 2009, the maiden jamboree, i was a CP3 marshal. opened up bottles of water to riders & did the necessaries.
 It was hard by then, to look at others riding while we are only assisting. I really wished i took part in the event as rider. But anyhow... i can try the track anytime i want... but yeah... it is never the same.

in 2010, kayuhan terang malam, i did registered but had to pull out due to some issue. Had to go to KL & settle things out. haha.. actually i was not keen on riding at night anyway..

then this year, had a chance to become marshal .. but hei man... not this time.. this time... i want to feel how the riders going to feel..

The track is awesome. with mixtures of terrain & trail.
The torturing middle section was overlapped by the cool ,techie DH. i was lucky not to be in the mass group  when reaching the area. So i get to ride the section ( 80%) from top to down. the feeling was whoaaaa..

Then the last downhill was another killer... but somebody was in front. the rolling, the swerve & the slippery part made the day.. if only i could go faster... it will be mad... har har har..

In total, im happy to be in Kulim. where i can try the track anytime whenever i like. The track deserved a visit anytime for riders who which to feel the flow of fun. Even the first climbing part was something for us to try conquer in 1 go. i certainly will do again. cant do it on the day due to MTB ( mari tolak basikal).. hehe.. cannot blame them..   tell me someone? how to build leg (stamina) to climb that in 1 go  fast??????.. heheh it will be a challege.. for me after sometime.. my heart is pumpin like hell & that is it.. har har har..

1 thing i hate for sure...the 10-12 km flat road.. i hate road ... flat even worse... i don't feel anything on the straight flat tarmac. bloody hell...

The marshal, feeding point & etc were prime. ( most of them are frens hhihih) & somehow.. the moral support was there to boost mi up.... thanks to all.. & my jiran was also there giving out moral support .. ehehhe... on the motobike.. damn.. sepatutnya hang kayuh sekali... hampeh... tapi .. aku paham....hihhi

I had 3 frens from Kl who joined the event & had changed their perception on MTB completely. Their playground is Lembah klang area & just restarted the hobby. Their among the best quote were..
" lepas ni, track kat kl to tak ada apa la utk kita.. kita dah berjaya lepas yang ni"....
"Aku tak pernah rasa sepenat ini selama ni."
"Aku nak datang balik sini, selalu aku naik bukit steroid tu ok je, sini  ntah kenapa susah sangat"
" DH yg licin aku terus turun je.. byk kali aku jatuh tapi aku tak kira.. dah penat kayuh naik bukit .. so jumpe Dh best ni.. mana boleh lepas peluang.. habis semua org aku halau..aku tak kira"
" Bila lagi ada event kat kulim, hang terus register utk kami, jgn byk tanya , register kan, insyaAllah kami sampei"

& 1 of them is considered OKU. But he tried very hard to complete until the river crossing. he also enjoy the DH yg licin...
" datang jauh jauh .. nak miss out peluang ni.. & give up early.. podahh"
" ada 1 point, marshal tanya aku , abang sorang sorang je kat sini? abang yang last ke, hehe malu jugak ye la.. tapi saya nak continue.. marshal: abng continue until cross sungai aje ye.. kami dah stop dah yang lain dari naik ke sini."


Big salute to Him.. No retreat.. yet no surrender.. until marshal.. said.. masa dah time.. so .. next time then...

Last weekend was great. i mean... very productive.. i killed 3 birds with 1 stone. actually...there were no birds.. ill change that.. i ate fishes like i never ate one before...1 strike.... 20 of them...
 enough mengarut..

The weekend already pre planned with activities.. My main would be the camping & biking trip to Ulu Mahang. The biggest event was the Kayuhan Amal for anak Mizi venzo.... Then my soft charging event  to close account for the weekend was the Infineon dinner.



All were great. only spent few mins with the lads for kayuhan amal. on the way to Camping & biking trip, we met them & decided to mingle for a while. Many riders.. it was like. wooooo...
good to see MTB folks....has branched out the scope...

Then , the camping stories began.
The turn up was pretty disappointing but we managed to squeeze out few  fun factors in it.

only 2 riders with 6 kampung lads.
This time, I continued with the event even after the last minute call off from few participants.
It was the fun things to do & alhamdullilah the small turn up was not a stopping factor. har har har..

 Again the main attraction was the waterfall & ikan tengas.
The delicacies were served to us like we should pay them RM150 per trip

So ni trip camping & biking  tapi actually camping ,biking & gemukan badan & makan good food.

Cant imagine the just charged us RM40 per head. i didnt do a single. thing.

On saturday afternoon, we biked to the tip of the banjaran bintag. about 30km from the campsite. but unfortunately we had to stop 3.4 way. Byk sgt tapak kaki & tahi fumakilla clan. Then motorcross support advised us to change our plan. aha... not a problem.. after 3 pinggan nasi for lunch... the was the best decision heheh..
We were escorted by 2 motorcorss & 1 cupcross.. ( part of the deal)

The next day , man & decided to join the org kampung to menjala ikan tengas again.. hmm..
lembik kami.. it was too tiring & adventurous... i dont know how describe.,. but later in the future... you guys wanna join us... then join the manjala trip..then you know..
 heeh

went out about 1600 & by 1830 i reached E & O hotel penang for my co dinner.

Came late & missed the red carpet part.. i was placed on the second floor due to no more space on the main hall. haha  not an issue. Happening day for my co. performances, fashion show & stuff. The Many assets were revealed & i was shocked myself.. how come?? who?? do i know you form somewhere?

i dont know how much the had spent on those... but they sure looked stunning...

BJ:" Sabtu teman kayuh di 2011 Jom kyuh @ PTSB. Poly depan rumah teman punya event. Jiran teman lecturer kat situ yg jadi org kuat.. tu yg dpat nombor 1 tu. har har har" tapi mini jamboree je.
Then ahad teman join road event kayuh almost 100km. gune teman punya old school road bike.. langsung kepenatan. Lepaih sabtu tu,, after  upacara penyampaian hadiah, teman pi tepeng.. pi kenduri kawin member teman. sampei balik kulm pukui 8. then tak cukup rehat.. kayuh balik hari ahad.. tu la tumpo teruih.."
Q:"Ada sape tak yg suruh encik buat macam tu?"
BJ:" hang nak carik gaduh ke?"
Q:" maafkan saya. sekadar ingin mengetahui"
BJ:" heh takpe.. dua dua pun boleh.
Q:" Amacam trek poly?"
BJ:" trek sgt memberansangkan.. sebab depa ada selit technical technical aspect. walaupun sikit. tapi dah start utk kasi rider rider di malaysia belajo.. sesuai le... cuma.. teman tak kuat duduk tgh tgh. so tak boleh layan those technical bila dah ramei yang nolak... ha hah ah,,,( alasan teman je tu)
Q:" eh apa pasai depa tolak?"
BJ:" ramei yang takut takut lagi, & tak pernah jumpa technical technical part tu. tu pasai depa tolak.  itu pasai teman berkenan  trek ni. sebab. bila dah start ada..& rider rider dah selalu jumpa & maybe boleh start training kat situ.. barulah. boleh upgrade level MTB malaysia.. ni setakat main trek balak , kelapa sawit & huwa... best best... best tang mana nya? sebab.. teman sendiri pun takut takut bila ada technical part. sebab jarang ada pendedahan.. . contohnya.. bila turun kiara or PCP.. nga nga... terlopong tak boleh turun.. padahal MTB... tapi pendapat temanle... "
Q:" Kenapa .. trek trek yg selama ni tak cukup mencabarke??"
BJ:" eh.. tak le macam tu. Cabaran tu byk... mental, endurance & etc. tapi dari segi technical.. ramei lagi riders kita akan tolak dari try  lalui.. termasuk teman.. sebab...jarang jumpa.. itu aje...cabaran dari segi mental & endurance sebenarnya dah byk jugak...ada yng ngarut sampei tak boleh kayuh pun ada. uphill downhill...semua tu ok sebenarnya.. tapi bila dah kumpul sampei 1000 org nak kayuh  macam tu.. hehe... jadi bodoh semua nunggu..... maafkan saya"

Had 5 people today & guest of honour from Penang Island klik Herren Sufian Idris...
MTB freak, after the  ride with us, went to Teluk Batik & participated in the Teluk Batik Maiden Jam.
He he he.. strong man with will of steel...Kuda besi kau.. heheh salute

Actually not today, it was yesterday.. 12/3/2011

Planned a week to go for the craziest elevation & elevation sequence i had ever known... again to me. to others it might be nothing...

1/5 2009 Kulim including the original first set of hills. ( some people experienced this during 2009 test Track session).
Then continue with 2011 PSTB track. 1/2 of it including their techi & slimmy DH section. Accidentally found their new fun route with power rolling section...it will jammed up the crowd during the day. most beginner  & event intermediate will not dare trying...

ANyway, the attempt to continue with Kulim bukit Botak ( 7km up & 7km down) was not materialized as the day was getting hotter & hmm.. we were getting weaker & weaker..... har har har..

Our guess had to leave us for his teluk batik jam preparation & pre program, we then continued with the other half of 2011 PSTB track. the punishing one.. oh my god........
i guess the kids ( Shafiq & Jefri) might had cursed me for this. It was really the end of our energy & i had non left when i reached the top. then we decided to take fast down to the normal reverse 3m. Somehow the fast DH managed to bring a smile to our face. small work together session to cross a gap & a river. ( short cut to skip another climbing).... we finally out of the offroad by 1400++.... then we had our separate way...

So total about 30-35km ++ were covered. For me,, i had to call off the sunday ride due to exhausted.
I cant believed it... heheh   anyway... those kids  pun pengsan & didnt turn up for sunday ride... i did turned up at 7/11 but with my truck ...

hahahhaha anyway.. ill dare myself to complete my target soon.

1/5 Kulim track + 1/1 bukit botak & 3/4 2011 PSTB track. That will give me  3 medium high hilss with steep climbing,  Small hills rolling section, Long  climbing ( 7km)  with several steep parts in between, another rolling section & 1  medium distance with steep climbing... small section of flat to recover in between.  this part will protect us from the sun .. dont worry .. byk  besar itu pokok kelapa sawit.... Then out from behind Infineon.. on road to Padang CIna & end up after first solar bukit rimau offroad & last not too high & long climbing section....

 hhe petang tadi lepas kayuh.. eden pi ke accessories shop & asked the guy to install thule bed rider device on my Frontier..  bought 3 of those stuff from ebay. wanna secure my bikes back there.
 1 of my bike has long wheel base. (19.5 inch frame)... so .. no choice but have to improvise to secure the ride. hehe it will looks a bit weird from the rest. ( the rest all settle down inside the truck backside.. but this one.. tercunget sikit.. hehe. tapi secure le..  no need to worry frame or parts terlanggor.. haha

tapi tak siap sepenuhnya.. mata drill depa snapped to complete the first unit. then it was too late to buy a new one as it was 730 already.. tomorrow im going to complete the installation.. but new babeh fitted well & easily can be transport anywhere securely insyaAllah..

I hate the late start...
I like abe Aji yang join the race

I hate the road part in the event
I like the "full of concentration DH section"
I hate the ignorance riders yg tak paham.. "dah tolak dok kiri kasi orng nak kayuh disebelah kanan"
i Like the mixture of the track... Kg org ASli, school children supporters & many more...
I hate the last part of the track where a diversion in the DH where most people missed out & came infront.. hahaha...

Anyway...
 all are excellent.

what i hate the most was the restaurant we went for dinner the night before. Somewhere in between Jeli to kebun bunga....

then amik order lagi sekali kat kami... kata terlupa
makanan sampei.. sikit, tak ada rasa, sejuk.. ( nasi sme leper dgn pinggan)
 then 1 fren tak dapek langsung

itu yang sgt kecewa.. & jeli failed due to that. first impression ...haha.. tapi who cares... kitaorang punya pendapat je...

So, happy Maulud nabi. ( Muhammad SAW). If can, muslim, participate in the ceramah of some sort. it is required for us to at least read the Prophet Sirah for a bit during the day. (Going to any mosque & listen to ceramah will do..)

1. Not to be the last rider to complete the Fun ride
2. Take as many pictures possible with Uphone & maybe put on the video to get some fun........
3. Enjoy the ride & meet frens along the way. Usually in Any jam i had joined, i tried not to stop even at  waterpoint. If there is a need to stop.. do not stop longer than 3 min.. ( failed many times)

2011 Banjaran Bintang changed to 2011 Kota warisan Mit Orangje

Assalammualaikum & salam sejahtera.
Tagged along with Geng Jahat Oren colour to Kota Warisan somewhere near Dengkil.
 Summoned Azmir to join & yes he did joined without hesitation. Good old buddy.

About 10 to 13 people gathered & we started the day with a small speech & a doa. ( thanks for welcoming mi & my fren) it was a nice gesture..

Meeting point: Pasar Awam Dengkil
Turn up: 10-13
Ride starts at: Around 0800
Ride ends at: 1430

It began with Tarmac & entering Ladang kelapa sawit.
It was a fine day with less sun light.Alhamdullilah, it stayed like that almost the whole journey.
If not, we might suffer more for the second half of the track.

I did a summersault act in one of the small descend at the beginning. I dont know, once going down with a little force to reduce the speed, my handle bar got twisted outward & i dont know how ,then, phewwwww....360 tertunggeng ke depan.. har har har..luckily nothing much happen & it was at slow speed.

Re tighten the handle bar & move on. I had a small phobia after that .. had to check here n there if the handle bar was tighten tight enough to handle the force during DH. I had sent my bike for servis earlier on & maybe & maybe  it was not tighten properly..

Thanks to the back markers for helping out during the time.

Then, another near disaster  event also came in. During one of the DH, my rear wheel skidded & almost managed to put me down. I remembered the feeling.. it was not good & kecut perut & all.. luckily..it managed to return to the stable position .pheww.... close call..

The track was nice. with various challenges. & at 1 of the part, we tried 2 or 3 times to conquer the peak. non of us pass. I tried twice & yes.. ill come again. It is about 200m up to 25-35 degree incline.. on loose gravel, grass & non flatted surface. & near gaung on your left hand side.


Ha ha.. stop at the local Cendul stop for some light snack. but not too light for some people.
Then the second part began. The offroad session was fun. it is really an off road. the offroad with hard a road left. With a bit of stumbled, everyone managed to got to the peak.. it was a nice view & yeaahhh..

Several act in front of the camera & then we climbed for the last peak before going down.

Heiiii Yeah,,, the downhill section was fun.... but required a bit of technical & control if wanna go smooth..  & the last part was the best.. but i stopped..heheh   I had this phobia of stopping at a DH section. once i stop ill have problem to restart.. so for this case,,, i sorong my bike a little then only rode at the safer area... heheheh poor me.

Journey to the car on tarmac was ok. rolling section.

It was a fun half a day trip with bike & i m certainly will come back to conquer the steep hill. haha

Thanks to GengKayuhBeb.. You guys are awesome. My fren & i felt welcome all the way & were included in the group without any prejudice. That shows how versatile this biking group is..

Kulim 2009 MTB Exploration Original track revisited report.....

Total turn  up : 13
Riders after first hill: 11
Riders after the last hill: 10

Starts: 0845

Number of prominent hill: 3

It was a classic. It remind me of the time i had firstly joined & killin myself on those hills.. the first hill with a cement single trail ascending was not the one i fancied & was not able to climb with a bike. Hiking was the mean of it.

The track is still the same. but this time, the turned up team was a regular  riders .So, maybe no problem to them. Even some of  the marks are still visible.

This hill managed to chicken out 2 of the turned up.Total off road with loose  gravel & non flat slippery mud in the first 300m of the climb.

The 2nd hill offers another technical ascend. with wild grass, non flat surface full of water runaway..., loose gravel, slippery mud & daaahhhhh arrggghhhhh. It was hard for us stay on the bike..heheh at least us...

The long donwhill was there .hmm.. the compound has turned up very hard. I mean rock hard... so no smooth ,fast & sweeping downhill.. takut mah...heheheh

Then the last hill. We got lost. after seraching here & there,, we managed to find but almost at 3/4 distance from the original distance.It was.. hard as the first time i rode on it.. with slippery surface & steep angle. mud & mud everywhere.. huwaaaaaa.. it was tough & yeah for us again..By this time, all were tired. I told them even more scary fact. It is just the first check point.... What???????
The new kids on the block ( 15 years old gang) were really shocked? they had done 2010 Kayuh Lasak & finished all the checkpoint by 1400.from their face, they cant believed that for this trail, we just cover CP1. hahahah.. total off road & wild surface. that is the different.

We were stopped by the guard to enter the 2nd part of the trail.

"New management", tanpa urusan .. tak boleh masuk...

Huwaa.... most of us were frustrated but thankful... heheh you know who you are,,,

Then we had to head to Tmn Bukit Mahkota & do 2009 Polytechnic Kulim Mini jamboree first part in reverse. The loose gravel downhill turn up to be loose gravel steep up hill.... huwaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
 But it was the last climb... so no choice...........

 had our refreshment & recuperating meal at Sg Ular & head to whatever our own target destination.

En Yusoff was the sponsor of the day. It was his birthday. heheh... Selamat hari tua old buddy...

Kulim 2009 MTB Exploration Original track revisited

 We kulimites.... plan to revisit the original track of 2009 MTB event.

Maybe we plan to complete until CP 3. * about 35km

It is the tough one which include the first hill which was omitted during the actual Jamboree.

 Group group kami kaki masuk hutan nak buat  trip masuk hutan , camping & boleh fishing & biking juge.

YOu either boleh guna 4x4 naik ke tempat camping or kayuh beskat sendiri about 5-10 km . Of course barang barang diangkut oleh pick up sapa yang ada. tumpang le..

4X4 ,biking,camping,picnicking,mountain biking,fishing,mandiying & lepakking

This is an overall trip . for fisherman & mountain bikers.

1.YOu can bike to the camping location. ( park the car at the nearby kampung) only bike 12km.
2. You can bring your bike on the 4x4  to the camping area.
3. you can just go as a camper
4. you can go and fulfill your fishing hobby
5. you can just join & relax by the clean river & enjoy Ikan tengas...

What you need is Rm 40. Orang kampung from Ulu Mahang will do everything for you.

2 days 1 night food will be covered.
Saturday lunch, afternoon snack, barbeque dinner, & snack for supper
Sunday breakfast & lunch.

special item. Fresh ikan tengas will be catch by org kampung juge.
You just have to bring:
1. your own tent & sleeping bag.
2. Bike if you think of biking.
3. Fishing rod or fishing net if you are a fish person ...
4. or a book.. boriiingg.

Suggestion to bike 30-50 km lead bi orng kampung bikers... mr li
for bikers group.
for fisherman group.. just do your fishing nearby river.
Saturday 1900 Barbeque dinner
Saturday 2000 fishing time with org kampung or menjala time. up to 0200
Sunday 0700 breakfast
sunday >0800 Free activities. fishing,mandiying or biking another 30 km
Sunday 1300 lunch
sunday 1400-1500 out of the jungle
